Hello! I’m super excited to be releasing this update as it brings so many cool features, improvements, and fixes. We’ve got pack favouriting, more & better filters, some really cool improvements for creators & a bunch more.
Features
- Added pack favouriting, hover over the top right of a pack’s banner to add a pack to your favourites and use the new favourites filter to view them.
- Added a Dead by Daylight version filter and changed the includes filter to covers all upload-able categories. In addition, you can now control how the include is applied - as an “and”, “or”, or “only”.
- Added filtering shortcuts - these cover some of the main things you might want to see, Portraits, Perks, and equipable icons.
- Added some new sorting options, DbD Version, Random, and Last Downloaded (this is a personal tracker for those “ah, what was that pack called again” moments)
- Added a way to specify a non-DbD install folder for icon packs for personal or artistic use (you got permission from the creator, right?)
- Added a setting to control which game installation is defaulted to when multiple are specified
- Reworked the default icons page to list all NL provided default icon packs for creators (which now no longer show on the main list but can still be linked to)
- Multiple creators can now be credited on the packs list & tagged with various badges like “OG”, “OC”, or one for maintainers. If you wish to credit another artist on your packs, please reach out.
- Added shared pack management. If you wish for another creator to be able to update a pack of yours this is now possible. Please reach out for more info.
- Added lists to show file changes when uploading/updating packsw
Changes
- Pack links & download options now exist under a “share” menu
- The pack list UI has been improved to make better use of the space & to better handle scaling
- Pack link prefixes (nightlight.gg/packs or nightlight://packs) will now be automatically removed when pasting into the search box
- Pack preview tab order is now standardised & consistent with other the other icon category lists
- Updated/tidied the pack uploading & updating pages to make them easier to use and to better state the rules/requirements because apparently they needed it
- Hidden files are now ignored on the uploader (no more desktop.ini appearing in the errors, yay)
- Improved searching & pack links so that variants can now be selected by default when they are the (closest) match. Previously the primary/default variant would be shown as selected regardless.
This means that variants can now be linked to directly & “collections” like WheatDraws’ pearlescent variants can be displayed just by searching.
Bug Fixes
- Clicking the same pack link again after having adjusting filters will no longer be ignored
- Fixed the starting selected pack’s update date being shown for any of it’s variants on the pack list
- Fixed an error when clicking the sort or author filter in a specific spot
- Fixed a bug which would prevent a Xbox/Windows Store path from displaying when revisiting the settings page
- Fixed the “install to” selector showing when only one install path is configured
- Fixed the installation alert message box persisting when retrying the install
- Fixed an issue preventing the tooltips from showing on the chapter and download count of packs
- Fixed the pending update display not working for variants
- Fixed the uploader defaulting to an older DbD version
- Added some logic to handle a pack download error which would occur if your Window’s user folder was renamed
